Nexans secures eight year contract to provide Tiger® Brand power cable for the Mosaic K3 potash mine in Canada

The Mosaic Company has chosen Nexans to supply power cables and support services at their K3 Potash mine located in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. K3 is undergoing a $1.7 billion expansion project that will make it the world's largest potash mine by 2024. To support this growth, Nexans will deliver more than 1300 km of CSA-certified cables for K3, including Tiger® Brand mine power feeder and SHD-GC portable power cables.

Mosaic chose Nexans for its ability to provide high-quality, innovative cables designed to last longer in the harshest mining environments, and for its industry leading mine site cable training, education and engineering support.

Steven Vermeulen, Nexans Executive VP Americas, said, "The contract with Mosaic reinforces Nexans' position as the cable productivity leader in underground and open pit mining. This agreement builds on a 10 year relationship between our organizations and we look forward to supporting K3's ambitious growth plan."

The first cables will be delivered in Q1 2018 and will be manufactured by Nexans AmerCable in El Dorado, Arkansas, where all Tiger Brand mining cables are produced.
